About Me
I have my doctor to thank for changing my life! That is a strange statement coming from a Nutritional Therapist, but I can honestly say that it is true. Why?Well, if my doctor hadn't told me 10 years ago that having really cold hands and feet was just a sign of getting older (I was 36), and that my constant sneezing and totally blocked nose should be treated with anti-histamines for LIFE, I would not now be advising people to do the complete OPPOSITE.
I just didn't want to put up with freezing extremities every winter, and certainly didn't want to pay out for anti-histamines for the rest of my life!
I then embarked on my life changing path to total health, and in doing so have made it my goal to help others who know that there is another way to the medical model to treating (not curing) illness. I therefore trained as a Naturopathic Nutritionist with the Nutritional Healing Foundation. I am currently a support tutor with the college, which has given me tremendous satisfaction helping others taking their first steps in their life changing journeys.
Having been an ex sugar addict and a 20 a day smoker I really understand what it's like when trying to deal with cravings and temptations. That's why I know that having support and encouragement during this time is vitally important in order to succeed. Willpower does not work – all that happens is that your desire for the “forbidden” substance intensifies. Nutritional Therapy is about putting nutrients in rather than taking things out to start with which changes the biochemistry so over time you won’t continue to desire the substance that destroys your health.
Therefore my aim is to educate and empower you to understand that you have the ability to take control of your health.I am a member of BANT; which means I am qualified in both the science and clinical aspects of nutrition, and am proud to abide by their strict code of ethics and conduct, and also their requirement for continued professional development.
